Based in Surry, United Kingdom Metal Bulletin plc (“Metal Bulletin”) is a specialty publisher of vertical-market magazines and newsletters.  Primary publications on the international iron, steel and non-ferrous metal markets, Metal Bulletin wanted to diversify by acquiring similar publishers.

Based in Montreal, Canada BCA Publications is a publisher of independent fundamental financial market and economic research, covering both developed and emerging markets serving primarily the financial services industry in over 80 countries.

 

Transaction Details:

A multi-year deal was struck with c$29m payable at closing with additional payments made over the 5-years following the closed based on financial performance with a maximum consideration payable of c$71m.  Metal Bulletin was acquired by Euromoney Institutional Investor (LON: ERM) for £221.3m on October 6, 2006
