Based in Danbury CT A2 develops and manufacturers a line of hand-held FTIR spectrometers that provide the performance of large bench-top laboratory FTIR spectrometers in a small, ruggedized package. A2 engineers developed patented technologies with the goal of bringing portable FTIR out of the laboratory and into the field: “lab coats to work boots.”

Its global headquarters is located in Santa Clara, California. Agilent was established in 1999 as a spin-off from Hewlett-Packard. Agilent is a public company with shares traded on the New York Stock Exchange (A).
Transaction Details:
Agilent acquired the assets of A2 Technologies, terms were not disclosed. Substantially all A2 Technologies’ intellectual property, technology and spectroscopy product portfolio are now part of Agilent’s Spectroscopy Solutions Division within its Chemical Analysis Group. All former A2 Technologies employees have joined Agilent. A2’s Danbury facility is leased by Agilent and operated as an engineering “center of excellence” by Agilent.
